The Chestnut Group Appoints Thomond Marketing Agency as Part of Strategic Growth Plan

The award-winning Chestnut Group has appointed specialist growth marketing agency, Thomond, to support with the Group’s expansion plans and help establish the Chestnut brand as one the country’s leading innovators in creating unique quality hospitality experiences.

Founded in 2012, The Chestnut Group’s first opening was The Packhorse Inn, located in Mouton near Newmarket, which has quickly earned an outstanding reputation for quality food, drink and service, receiving 3 AA Rosettes and 5 AA stars for its accommodation.

The Group also owns The Rupert Brooke in Grantchester and recently announced that it will be taking on the management of The White Horse in Easton near Framlingham, which marks the Group’s first move into management.

Chestnut’s portfolio also includes the former nine-bedroom Ounce House in Bury St Edmunds, which is currently undergoing a major renovation before opening later this summer. The Group is currently reviewing a number of opportunities as it looks to establish it’s footprint within East Anglia and develop services across hospitality, management and lifestyle.

The appointment of Thomond, follows on from The Chestnut Group having put in place a strong central management team with the appointments of David Minchin as Finance Director, Steve Smith as General Group Manager, Nick Bridges as Head of Marketing, Communications and Digital, Sophie Worne as Head of Group Training and Personnel Development and Sarah Barclay as Head of HR.

Set up by a team of experienced marketeers, with strong backgrounds in hospitality, leisure and lifestyle, Thomond was established with the express purpose of providing specialist support for high growth businesses.

Taking a more entrepreneurial approach than many traditional agencies, Thomond works with owners and management teams to understand the challenges and objectives of the businesses. This allows Thomond to then create and activate bespoke strategies that deliver a measurable difference at each stage of the growth cycle.
